Presenting at ASLA Conference is an opportunity to showcase your work, contribute to professional learning, spark meaningful conversations, and help shape the future of school libraries. We welcome submissions from school library professionals, educators, researchers, and advocates who are passionate about empowering students, fostering literacy, and creating dynamic learning environments.
We encourage you to submit an abstract for the ASLA Conference in Hobart to shine a light on best practice in school libraries.
Session Formats:
We welcome a variety of formats — presentations, workshops, panels, interactive experiences or something entirely new.
Submission Details:
Submit a short abstract (up to 250 words) outlining your session idea, key takeaways and what makes it special.

Conference Dates: 8 – 10 April 2027
ASLA is offering funding for one member whose abstract has been selected for inclusion in the conference program to attend
ASLA Conference on 8-10 APRIL 2027 in Hobart.
The recipient will receive free registration to the conference and funding to cover the cost of travel and accommodation up to the value of $1000.
The successful applicant will be expected to:
● Use funds only to attend the 2027 ASLA Conference for the FULL days.
● Take full advantage of the professional development and networking opportunities provided by attendance at the conference.
● Present to ASLA members at a future event or write an article for our newsletter within the next 12 months about what they have learned from the conference experience.
Members can apply (of up to 300 words) by stating:
● Financial membership of ASLA (school or personal membership).
● The potential benefits for you and your school from your participation at the 2027 ASLA Conference.
● Method of reporting - Professional learning presentation or article
● A brief summary of your work history in a library setting.
● An approximation of travel costs

Successful applicants will be notified by 30 September 2026
Half payment will be given before the conference with the balance paid on completion of the reporting process chosen.
